SUNDAY SCHOOL SINGING.
* i AUCKLAND COMPETITION. Praise for the standard of singing was expressed by the judge, Mr. E. Varley Hudson, at the third annual musical festival held by the Auckland Sunday School Union in the Unity Hall on Saturday afternoon, with the object of improving singing in Sunday schools. Mr. W. liew presided. The judge's awards were:— Senior Section (under 10). —Mount Eden Congregational Church, 172 points, 1; Epsom Presbyterian Church, 171%, 2; Otahuhu Methodist Church, 170, 3; Dominion Road Methodist Church, IGS; Richmond Baptist Church, 135, Junior Section (under 9). —St. John's Methodist Church, 275 points, 1; Dominion Road Methodist Church, 201, 2; Balmoral Presbyterian Church, 227. Shields for the two sections will be awarded at the annual rally on September 29.
