FATAL COLLISIONS.

TWO ON SATURDAY. MOTOR CYCLIST'S DEATH. ST. JOHN AMBULANCE MEMBER Two men were fatally injured in motor collisions on Saturday. George Kent Tucker, aged 18, of 14, Seymour Street, Elle'rslie, died in the Auckland Hospital at 8.45 p.m. on Saturday, and Andrew Jack, 44, of 14, Farrar Street, Grey Lynn, died last evening. The first collision, which occurred shortly after noon on Saturday, was at the corner of Hillsboro' Road and Buddock Street, Mount Roskill. Tucker, a poultry farm employee, riding a motor cycle, was thrown against the windscreen of a car and received severe cuts to tho neck and other injuries. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital by ■i St. John ambulance. The motor car, driven by Mr. 0. Gibb, of Dominion Road, was going along Hillsboro' Road in the direction of the cemetery, and had just turned into Buddock Street when the collision occurred. The deceased was a member of the St. John Ambulance Association, and would have been on duty on Saturday afternoon at the Reinuera hockey grounds. He was an enthusiastic member of the association, attached to the Epsom division, and for some time past had been coaching some thirty youths in ambulance work. He had been nominated for appointment au cadet oilicer. The inquest, opened at Onchunga yesterday, was adjourned. Truck Driver Killed. Thrown heavily to the roadway when a collision occurred between tho truck he was driving and a motor car at the intersection of Richmond Road and Lcighton Street on Saturday evening, -Mr. Andrew Jack, aged 44, a" mechanic, of 14, Farrar Street, Grey Lynn, had his skull fractured and received other injuries, from which he died at the Auckland Hospital at 8.30 last evening. On the truck with Mr. Jack at the time of the accident was Mr. William Barry, aged 38, a relief worker, of 0, Cockburn Street, Grey Lynn. He suffered concussion and minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, but his condition is not regarded as serious. Tho truck was going down Richmond Road and the motor car, driven by Mr. Richard Buchanan, 13, Scotia Place, Upper Queen Street, emerged from Leighton Street. The vehicles collided violently, and tho truck was turned round and came to a stop on the opposite side of tho road. In the motor car with Mr. Buchanan was Mr. Victor Brown, of 28, Brown Street, Grey Lynn. Tho front part of the truck was wrecked, and parts of it were strewn over the road. Tho front wheels were knocked off. Damage to the motor car included a broken headlamp, splintered windscreen, and damaged steering wheel and mudguard. Xeither Mr. Buchanan nor Mr. Brown was injured. Within a few minutes of the accident a St. John ambulance was on the scene, and the two injured men were on the way to the Auckland Hospital.
