RAILWAY HEADS.
CONFERENCE IN AUSTRALIA. ME. MACKLEY RETURNS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. G. H. Maekley, General Manager of New Zealand Railways, who has been attending a conference of railway commissioners of Australia and New Zealand, returned by the Maunganui to-day. He will furnish a report of the proceedings to the Railways . Board. Mr. Macklcy said the conference was a very valuable one. Matters discussed were solely of railway concern and the public would receive the benefit of the deliberations in due course.
While in Australia, Mr. Maekley also investigated other railway problems affecting New Zealand. An exchange of views with Australian officials, he said, had proved very useful.
