MINIATURE RIFLES.
r- NEW ASSOCIATION FORMED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TIMARU, this day. A meeting of delegates on Saturday night formed a South Island Miniature Rifle Association, with headquarters in Timaru. Mr. W. Duncan, president of the Timaru Association, was elected president, Mr. J. C. Faulkner (Waimate), deputy-president, and Mr. M. Higgins (Timaru) secretnry. Delegates were present from Christchurch, Ashburton, Mackenzie, South Canterbury, Timaru, Waimate, Oamaru and Dunedin. The South Island championship was fired on' Saturday and was won by P. D Cook, of Tengawai, South Canterbury. The South Island ladies' championship was won by Mrs. Smith, Ward's Club, Christchurcli. Mrs. Ragg, New Brighton, was second. The South Island teams' match championship was won by Pleasant Point. WHANGAREI CLUB. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. The Whangarei Rifle Club held a further shoot in tbe Farmers' Trading Co. trophy series over ranges of 200 and 300 yards. Positions on points are:—G. Neville 4, C. Kuddell 3, Ashton and Hill 2 each, S. Wells 1. Week-end scores were:—G. Neville 84, J. Ashton 94, S. Wells 93, E. A. Foot 93, K. J. Clark 93, C. Ruddell 01, J. Norris 89, S. E. Foot 87, T. Hill 74.
