CYCLIST KNOCKED OVER.
CAR DRIVER TINED €5.
Tliomae Herbert Glendinning was charged before Mr. F. 11. Levien, S.M., at the Otnhuliu Court to-day, with being in a, state of intoxication while in clfarge of a motor car. He pleaded guilty. Sergeant J. Caliill said that on Saturday he was notified of an accident on the Great South Road, and found defendant by his car in a muddled condition. Defendant said that he had been driving slowly behind a cyclist and sounding his horn, but in passing the cyclist had knocked him over.
* Mr. T. N. Holmden, who appeared for the defendant, said that the latter had had a few drinks, and. on starting from Midcllemoro thought that he was fit to drive. He had a slight impediment, and that might have impressed the doctor who examined him. Mr. Levien eaid that it was not a bad case. Defendant's license would be cancelled for three months, and he would be fined. £5 and 29/ costs.
