PUBLIC SERVICE EXAMINATIONS FOR SHORTHAND-WRITERS AND TYPISTS. NOVEMBER-DECEMBER. 1034. It is hereby notified that the usual Junior and Senior Public Service Entrance Examinations for Shorthand-typists wrll be hold on the 17TH NOVEMBER. In addition it is proposed to hold the following Examinations in the four main centres on the IST DECEMBER: — Intermediate Examination: Shorthand, 130 words a minute; Typewriting, 50 words a minute. Special Examination: Shorthand, 150 •words a minute; Typewriting, 50 words a minute. If sufficient candidates offer an Examination for the purposes of the Shorthand Reporters Act, 190S, will also be conducted in conjunction with the Intermediate and Special Examinations. This examination requires a speed of from 100 to 180 words a minute in Shorthand, with not more than one per cent of error in transcript. The fee for this examination is £2 2/, and applications must also' be accompanied by evidence that applicant has attained the age of 21 years, and at least two testimonials as to character. Applications close ISth October, 1934, but late applications will be received up to Ist November if accompanied by a late fee of 2/6 in addition to the usual entrance fee of 5/ for the Junior, and 10/ for the Senior Examination ; and a late fee of 5/ in addition to the usual entrance fee of 15/ for the Intermediate and £1 for the Special Examination.
