DEBATING CONTEST.
The third round of the Athenaeum Cup debating contest was decided last evening, when the Leys-Omega team defeated a team from the People's University Association. Mr. Martin Shaw was adjudicator. The subject was: "That private production of armaments is a menace to world peace." The teams were:—LeysOmega (affirmative), Messrs. P. J. Luxford (leader), E._ 0. Cox and A. Menzies; People's Universities' Association, Mr. M. Kimbel (leader), Mrs. V. Dyson and Mr. K. F. Paddock. Mr. Martin gave hie decision in favour of the Leys-Omega team by 292 points to 279.
