QUEEN CARNIVAL DANCE.
Despite adverse -weather conditions, there was a good attendance at a pleasant social evening of dancing, games and musical items, held on Saturday evening, to help Miss Gwen Eowe, Bayswater's representative in the queen carnival. Miss Ultino Thompson was a splendid organiser of games and competitions, which were won respectively by Miss Ruth McFadgeon and Mr. McFadgcon. pi the elimination nwch, which caused much amusement, Mrs. Bramley was the lucky lady, whiles Mr. Armstrong carried off the gentleman's prize. Mrs. Newbury gave two solos at the piano, and as a comedian Mr. Newbury proved a great favourite. Mrs. PrestonThomas and Miss Nellie Marriage each gave a bracket of songs.
An exhibition of tap dancing by dainty littlo Mies Chapman added to the enjoyment of tlio evening 1 . Mr. Davis acted, as M.C. for the dancing, with Mr. Charlton supplying the music and extras by Mrs. Williamson. The Monte Carlo was won by Sirs. Hawkesworth and , Mr. Chapman. Thp committee comprised: Mrs. Rowe, wearing blush pink lace with black velvet coatee; Mrs. Jack Thompson, floral georgette, cape of ivory velvet; Mrs. Scott, floral georgette with ■ coatee of rose velvet; Mrs. Thompson, 'black Chantilly lace and coatee; Mrs. Brady, black lace with coatce of rose and black; Mrs. Hawkesworth, pink faille with black relief; Miss Ultino Thompson, navy and red marocain.
