CRUSHING RETURNS. (Ey Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WAIHI, this day. The following information has been cabled to London :— For the period ended July 7, comprising 22 crushing flays, 18,021 tons of ore were crushed for a result of 4524 fine ounces of gold and 2G.725 fine ounces of silver. This includes 1622 tons mined from the Grand Junction area, which yielded 443 fine ounces of gold and 1573 line ounces of silver. Surface in the School Drive—A further 30ft lias been driven west, the assay value over this distance being 7/3 per ton. The width of the lode at the face is about 2ft. >'o. 4 Level, north branch of Martha Lode.—Driving is suspended at 505 ft west. No. 5 Level, north branch of Martha Lode north.—The crosscut at 4201't west was driven a total of 50ft, where work was suspended. At 35ft in there is 3ft. of quartz dipping flatly north of little or no value. Martha lode : Driving west, the next 17ft assays 5/ per ton. No walls are No 6 Level, north branch of Martha r,nde.—Driving west, the next 55ft assays 3S/9 per ton. The width of the lode vanes from 1 to 3ft. . No 7 Level.—Lode at 312 ft in : For the next 34ft west the ore channel is rcpro_ sented by a few stringers of quartz of little or no value.
