INDECENT LETTER.
WOMAN BEFORE THE COURT. TO BE MEDICALLY EXAMINED. "This letter speaks for itself," said Inspector Edwards, who prosecuted in the Police Court this morning, in the case where Emily Violet Hicks, a middleaged woman, was charged on summons with sending an indecent letter through the post. The inspector added that the letter •was sent by defendant to her sister-in-law at Katikati. In November, 1931, defendant was ordered to come up for sentence for a similar offence. She was a. married woman, with two children. Her husband was dead. After perusing the lengthy letter, the magistrate remarked that the woman should, be medically examined, and if certified, put in a place of safe keeping. The woman was remanded until Monday and is to be medically examined in ihe meantime.
