LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

JUNIOR MANAGEMENT. WEIGHTED GRADE REQUIREMENTS. In the unavoidable absence of the chairman, Mr. 1). Wilkie, the junior management committee of the Auckland Kugby League last evening was presided over by Mr. E. Chapman. Mr. S. Kickards, who has succeeded Mr. H. Grubb as secretary of the Mangere Club, wrote suggesting that hia second grade team, now much strengthened since it met Tuakuu at Carlaw Park, have a return match with Tuakau or a match with Huntly. It was decided that this was a matter for the club to arrange. The committee decided that the weight allowance in all weighted grades for the second half of the season would obtain from Saturday next. The weights to be complied with, including allowances, will be: Third intermediate, 10st 131b; fourths, 9st 131b; fifths, 9st 61b; sixths, 9et 31b; sevenths, Bst 101b. The allowances are only applicable where players have previously played four Saturdays.

It was reported that a third intermediate team which had travelled to play in the city, after dressing, sat down in the shed and claimed 15 minutes. The J.M.C. pointed out that this was absolutely contrary to the spirit of the rule, and the referee would have been quite in order iu awarding the match to the home side, which was ready. If the latter club had appealed on the ground that short time was played, it would have succeeded. The rule says a travelling team is allowed 15 minutes' grace "if necessary."

A letter from the board of control reported the position of the Otahuhu Club appeal in connection with the championship rounds. The Otahnhu Club advised that it played, under protest, the match ntrainst Mangere <ie a championship fixture. Mnngere are to meet Mount Albert on Saturday.

Owing to tile light weight of the players in its team in the seventh grade, Mount Albert withdrew.

On behalf of the council the board of control asked for certain statistical data concerning the junior grades, and the secretary was nsked to supply the information. . Transfers: D. Smith and ,T. Pollock. City fifths to Mount Albert. Regrnde: F. T)rafl:n, Mantlkau third open to intermediate.
