AUCKLAND SENIOR BOARD. CODE JN WAIUXTJ DISTRICT RULIXGS AND JUNIOR APPEAL. At the meeting of the Auckland Rugby League Board of Control last evening, Mr. G. Grey Campbell presiding, advice was received that at a meeting on the 9th inst. a Rugby League had been formed in the Waiuku distrist, with Mr. L. Neuth as chairman and Mr. L. Wassell as secretary Two teams had been formed and donations received, together with a cup for competition. Two grounds also had been secured for use. Ifc was asked that teams be sent for exhibition matches at an early date. The chairman said the move was very encouraging, and it was decided that an official deputation visit the now league and discuss matters, The board decided to request a definite reply_ from the New Zealand League for permission to invite the Sydney championship winners to Auckland. The board also asked that the council confer next week with the board with regard to the Sydney team's visit, the Waitungi Maori Shield competition, and other matters. It was ruled that playing time for senior Carlaw Park matches was two forty-minute epelk, any less time to be mutually agreed upon by captains, and not to be Ices than thirty-minute spells. The principal match on Saturday will be bcuween Newton Rangers and Richmond Rovers, preceded by the City RoversDevonport United contest. Ponsonby and Mariste will play at Onehunga. Mr. Probert will represent the board there. The Newton Rangers Club protested against the continuance of the practice of keeping the senior teams on the field at half-time. It was claimed that this was •unfair to men in a heated condition. The return of teams to dressing rooms would be in accordance with English vogue, and give opportunity for proper attention to players. While not wishing to damp the enthusiasm of officials, the board decided that it did not at present consider it advisable to alter the present arrangement, except on extremely wet days. In reply to the Ponsonby Club's letter asking for a ruling following the dismissal of the protest regarding a new Newton player, it was ruled that it had been held by the A.R.L. and acted upon for a number of years that the progress of players could not be stopped, and that where a club had not a senior team, a player from that club could not be prevented from going to a senior team without transfer; pi-ovided lie was financial with his last club, a clearance establishing this fact. After considerable discussion it was decided to notify the Otahuhu Club that, in view of fresh evidence submitted by the junior management, the -club representative who appeared in support of an appeal granted in favour of the second, sixth, and seventh grades being changed from threeround to two-round championships be requested to reappear before the board, and that the J.M.C. action in continuing the championship toe approved until the matter is finally decided. Arising from the repetition of a recent complaint about the injury caused by dangerous- sprigs on players' boots, two officials were appointed to make inspections. Devonport, Richmond, and City Clubs advised their desires in connection with lectures toy Roy Hardgrave, the advisory coach. In response to a letter from the Auckland Referees' Association regarding objectionable behaviour of a spectator on the terraces at Carlaw Park, it was decided that no action could he taken until misconduct was shown.
