MARKETS IN EAST.
NEW ZEALAND PRODUCTS. INVESTIGATION PROPOSAL. ' (By Telegraph.—rress Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The possibility of developing markets in the East for New Zealand products was discussed by the Dominion executive of the New Zealand Farmers' "Union this evening. Mr. H. Mcllsop (Auckland) said a Japanese broker had mentioned to him the example of Brazil, which introduced coffee into Japan when it had not previously been drunk there. He had said numbers of Japanese would use butter if it were introduced. Mr. W. Mulholland (Canterbury) said they had enough reports on the situation, and what was' wanted now was some spadework. He suggested something should bo done by business and farming interests. The following resolution was .carried: "That the possibilities of trade with the East and other world markets be. investigated and, if the produce; boards will not take any concerted action in this direction, separate steps be taken to have this done."
