MR. MAURICE COHEN.
(By Telegraph.—rrcss Association.) PALMERSTON ST., this day. The dcatll has occurred at San Jose, California, of Mr. Maurice Cohen, formerly a prominent citizen of Palmerston* North, with a lengthy record of public service. He. occupied positions as Mayor of the borough and a councillor, president- of the A. and P. Association, a member of the Hospital Board, president of the Chamber of Commerce, and, in addition, for 22 years ho represented the Manawatu district on the Wellington Harbour Board, of which he was chairman in 1925-27. Mr. Cohen also represented various institutions at conferences abroad. He was an authority on music, and had filled a prominent part in the musical life of the city.
