PHANTOM KILLER.
SNIPES VICTIM PROM ROOFS. A phantom killer, who snipes his victims from roofs in dark alleys, leaving 22-calibr© bullets as the. only trace of him, has been puzzling the New York police. This mystery sniper claimed two more victims one night recently, bringing- the total to four people shot in different parts of the city. Eecenfc victims were Macagnone and William Badalamante, both with criminal records. Macagnone was wounded while walking along the Bowery. Only a few hundred yards from the scene" of the previous shooting, Badalamante staggered into a drug store nearby with a bullet in his back. He said he was walking along when he felt a sudden pain. Mrs. Yetta Einhorn, mother of three children, was killed as she chatted with neighbours in front of her husband's bakery. A post-mortem showed that the bullet, of a similar calibre to -those that claimed the other 'victims, was ■ fired from an altitude. The following day a plate-glass window of a shop near Einhom's was shattered by a similar bullet. The latest victim was Nathan Ellentuek, who fell dead near the caddie house of a New York golf club, another victim, of the sniper. In his-body, again, a .22 bullet was found. "
