JUNIOR BOARD AFFAIRS. At the meeting of the junior management committee of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, the chairman, Mr. D. Wilkie, having heard that deputations had waited direct upon the Referees' Association, said that procedure was wrong, as all such junior matters required first to be submitted to the junior board. Mr. Wilkie also reported that the control board intended to deal fully with the transfer position relating' to senior clubs acquiring senior players, and all clubs would be advised when these rules were finalised. "' ' A letter from Ellerslie United .Club complaining of inadequate shower facilities at Carlaw Park, was referred to the control board. It was decided to write the Hawkes Bay League inquiring as to co-operation in connection with the financing of a Richmond third grade team's visit, the club having offered to contribute. The Papakura Club having satisfactorily explained the delay of its fifth grade team to Victoria Park on Saturday, when the match was awarded to Ponsonby—the bus having broken down—it was decided that the match be played at a later date. In connection with a Devonport appeal regarding short time played recently, owing to the late arrival of the referee in a sixth grade match against Devonport, it was decided to replay the game if it had any bearing on the- championship. In response to a club inquiry it was pointed out that a visiting team could be granted a 15-minute concession in starting and the length of spells could be reduced to 35 minutes each way by mutual agreement between the captains. The Otahuhu Rovers Club advised that it intended to appeal to the senior board against the decision to increase the second grade championship to three rounds instead of two, in spite of an explanation made by the chairman. Two seventh grade players and one from each of the third and fourth grades were dealt with for offences on the field. The player attending and doing the sixth grade weight, the protest of Richmond Rovers against Devonport was dismissed. A protest against a Newton fourth grade player being unsupported, the Ellerslie Club forfeited 1/ expenses. Transfers granted: Thos. Matthews, K. Notton and J. Clark, from Manukau fifths to Ponsonby. ■■ '-_ ' ■ ■ , Re-grade: T. Atkins, Northcote seconds to third intermediate, subject to making the weight.
