LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
AFFAIRS OF REFEREES. At the meeting of the Auckland Rugby League Keferees' Association last evening, Mr. L. Bull presiding, it wae decided to accept a Ponsonby Club suggestion made through the Control Board, to invite a well-known ex-player nominated as a linesman to join the association. A member drew attention again to lack of facilities at the Manukau ground on Saturday, no lines being marked, there were no flags, and -the goal-posts were down at one end. The match, nevertheless, was played. The executive dealt with six deputations, while the main meeting commenced the consideration of the rules seriatum. This is to be .continued next week, with a view to revision recommendations. The chairman reported having watched play at the Domain, and arising out of his observations, made various helpful suggestions for the guidance of referees. Complaint was made regarding a spectator who made himself objectionable on the terraces on Saturday in his form of "barracking." This was referred to the management. Mr. A. Lonergan, of Remuera, was nominated for membership. Carhnv Park linesmen: — Xo. 1-ground, Messrs. O. Chalmers and 11. Taylor; "Ho. 2, W. Caddy, T. Skinner.
