NIGHT RACING IN PARIS.
FIRST IN EUROPE. BUILDINGS GAILY .ILLUMINATED. .(Received 10 a.m.) PARIS, July I.' Enormous crowds, including the President, M. Lebrun, and the British Ambassador, were present at the first floodlit horse race meeting in Europe, held at Longchamps, which began at 10 p.m. The course was a dazzling oval of light, the horses did not show nervousness, though some of them wore blinkers, ihe grandstands, totalisators and refreshment kiosks were gaily illuminated. Music, dancing and variety shows were carried on between the races. Seven races were run named respectively Prize of the Setting Sun, Dawn, Milky Way, Centaurs, Phoebe, Orion and Uranie.
