SUDDEN DEATH.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. While attending the Plumpton meeting of the local coursing club this afternoon, Walter James Allen, a boarding-house-keeper, of Waihi suddenly collapsed and died. Mr. Allen was president of the Waihi Coursing Club, and at the time was watching his dog running. He had been attended for sotae years for heart trouble, so no inquest will be necessary. Mr. Allen was formerly in the employ of the Railways Department, Auckland. It is thought that he became excited - when witnessing the success of his dog Heather Mixture in one of the heats just prior to his collapse. He said to a friend, "I'm done," and did not speak again. Dr. Barrowclough pronounced life extinct. The final rounds of the meeting were postponed. Mr. Allen ! leaves a widow and seven sons and daughters.
