BURGLARY IN CITY.
HACKSAW USED ON IRON BAR. STOCK WORTH £20 STOLEN. For the second time within the last two months, burglars broke into the warehouse of J. H. Dalton and Comrjanv, Ltd., warehousemen, Biadtoicl Buildings, Elliott Street, City, during the The burglars made a careful selection of clothing, comprising mostly overcoats and trousers, and a leather coat, of the total value of about £20, and departed by the back, door, which they left open. That the intruders were not amateurs is shown by the fact that one of a number of solid iron bars, thieequarters of an inch thick, which are fitted on the inside of a rear window, was sawn through cleanly with a hacksaw. The rear of the warehouse can bo reached only by traversing a vacant section from Albert- Street and then jumping down a steep concrete wall to the vard at the back. Once the window was.raised, the burglars were able to work on the iron bars without fear or being seen or heard. It is believed that the intruders were small, as the aperture between the bars through which they squeezed is small. The trousers and overcoats stolen weie all of a small man's size. No a£tempt was made upon the sate. On the previous occasion the burglars forced open the back door, but did not take any stock, merely contenting themselves with the contents of one of the "Friendly Road" collection boxes.
