HEAVY SNOWFALL.
IN OTAGO PROVINCE. SOME ROADS IMPASSABLE. ALL SPORTS CANCELLED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. 0 Last night and this morning a heavy snow storm struck the city, and it was reported to be general throughout the province. Snow was lying only lightly in the city at noon, but heavier drifts on hills caused a temporary stoppage of the hill suburb trains and motors. All eports wore postponed.
Snowfalls of from 3in to oin were reported from Otago Central. There were no train hold-ups, but the Kae's Junction, Edievale, Roxburgh, Clyde, Outram and Middlcmarch roads became impassable through drifts.
