MILITARY BALL.

FOURTH FIELD BATTERY.

The annual ball given by the officers, N.C.O.'s and men of the 4th Field Battery (How.) N.Z.A. and the committee of the College Rifles Club was held in the refer- Pan Cabaret last evening. The decorations were of a distinctly military type, two howitzers being arranged in the corners of the dance hall, and between them a lifesized wooden cavalry horse. Many of the committee and guests wore military uniforms and decorations, and the programmes were cut to represent the New Zealand Artillery badge. The guests were received by the president, Lieutenant-Colonel T. H. Dawson, and Mrs. Dawson, the latter wearing a frock of black spotted net. Among those present were Mrs. E.
