WELSH SOCIETY.
PRINCE OF WALES 5 BIRTHDAY. The Auckland Welsh Society celebrated the Prince of Wales' Birthday with-a musical evening and dance held in the Fanners' Trading Company's reception hall last Saturday evening. Over 200 guests were present and were received by the president, Mr. T. E. Price, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Parry, the latter wearing a frock of blue satin and lace. High tea was served in the lounge, where the long tables were beautifully decorated with spring flowers.
The programme opened with the singing of the English and Welsh National Anthems, the solos being given by Mr. S. Jenkins. Other items, vocal, instrumental and elocutionary, were given by Mesdames Clinton-Williams, Kersey, Parry, Milburn, Carey Williams; Misses Parry, Irving, Pickering and Winifred Cook; Messrs. Hewlitt, J. Pelham, Clin-ton-Williams, S. Jenkins, Hugh Williams, Arthur Cook and Carey Williams. The committee comprised Mr. T. E. Price (president),. Mrs. Parry, Mrs. Carey Williams, Mrs. Hugh Williams, Mrs. Linthwaite, Mrs. Saunders-Jones, Mrs. Milburn, Mrs. Hardiman, Mr. Parry, Mr. Carey Williams, Mr. J. H. Jones, Mr. F. Jenkins, Mr. Saunders Jones and Mr. Hardiman.
