PUPUKE GOLF CLUB.

SEVENTH ANNUAL BALL, » _____

In every way the ball held by the president, officers and members of ihc Pupuke Golf Club at the Pirate Shippe at Milford on Saturday proved successful. The floor was thronged with dancers and things went with a swing from start to finish. . Representatives oi other North Shore and city clubs were present. The arrangements were in the hands of an efficient committee, who worked hard for the success of the function, Miss M. D. Parker and Mr. C. A. Elvey being the joint secretaries. A number of the ladies on the committee had decorated the upper deck, where supper was held. The club colours were featured in the scheme and were to be seen in the golden ioeland poppies which were arranged in slim vases anil in the blue violets which were set in low crystal bowls. Around the walls were festoons of greenery, while clusters of gaily coloured balloons were suspended from the ceiling. The guests were received by the president, Dr. P. O. Andrews and Mrs. Andrews (captain), who wore a frock of deep gold satin with violet trimmings. They were assisted by the officers and members of the committee.

Members of the ladies' committee present were:—Miss Millicent Parker (secretary), who wore a frock of honey coloured taffeta and georgette; Mrs. J. W. Williamson, forest green georgette with yoke in lighter tone; Mrs. J. C. Rennie, leaf green organdie; Mrs. C. Jaggs, black velvet with pink gardenias; Mrs. A. Herbert, black ring velvet; Mrs. EI. B. Rowe, dove grey Chantilly lace; Mrs. F. Prosser, black satin with trimmings of diamante; Miss Berta O'Neill, black lace and georgette: Miss Gladys Williams, black georgette; Miss M. Cameron, black crepe suede.
