JURY LOCKED UP.

Woman's Remarkable Defence In Murder Charge. SECOND TRIAL ORDERED. (Received 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. In the Sydney Criminal Court yesterday Mrs. Lillian Anderson was on trial on a charge of murdering her husband, Moncrieff Anderson, at Wagga, on May 10. The jury were not able to agree and were locked up for the night. They stated this morning that they still could not agree and were discharged. The accuscd was remanded for another trial. Accused in the course of her defencc startled the Court by declaring that her late husband told her he had murdered Percy Smith —a crime for which Edward Morev was convicted recently and sentenced to death. She also denied having murdered her husband and added: "If I shot him it must have been an accident." Morey was brought from gaol and said he did not know Mrs. Anderson and had never seen her in his life. The Crown Prosecutor described Mrs. Anderson's defence as a cowardly insult to the intelligence of the jury.
