MANGERE EAST SOCIAL.
The annual presentation of trophies won during the past season by members of the Mangere Bowling and Mangere East Croquet Clubs was held in the Bowling Club's pavilion on Saturday night. Items were given by Mr. and Mrs. Dcwhurst and Mi's. Walters, Mrs. J. Gillies acting as accompanist. Prizes for competitions were won by Mrs. J. M. Key, Mrs. Saussey and Mr. Bowers. Before presenting the bowling club trophies the president, Mr. W. W. Masscy, congratulated the club on the state of the green during the past season. He also thanked the croquet ladies for arranging the evening. Mrs. A. E. Newson, president of the Croquet Club, presented tlie trophies won in her club. Trophies won were as follows:— Bowling Club: Championship singles, R. G. Prangley; champion pairs, J. T. Connor and McLaren; handicap pairs, J. T. Connor and R. McKay; handicap singles, R. D. Nicholls. Croquet Club: Championship singles, Mrs. K. Chapman; runner-up Mrs. Jackson; B championship, Mrs. Nicholls; handicap, Mrs. Jackeon; runner-up Miss Timms; A and B doubles, Mesdames Jackson and Nicholls; Newson star, Mrs. Jackson.
