CHURCH GEMS STOLEN.
THIEVES IN. R.C. CATHEDRAL. MELBOURNE, June 12. Thieves broke into St. Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne, last night and used a big golden crucifix to lever from the jewelled tabernacle doors adjoining the altars precious stones, including amethysts, rubies and emsralds, also gold plate. The loss and damage total "£IOOO.
