Mr. Oliver Nicholson leaves for Wellington by the Limited to-night. Archbishop Averill returned by the Limited this morning from Dunedin." Mr. Harvey Turner returned from. Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. G. S. Garland returned liy thcRuahine ,this morning from a five months' business visit to England. Mr. E. C. Hands, general manager of the New Zealand Broadcasting Board, returned to Wellington by the Limited last evening. Mr. Justice Ostler, who has been relieving at the Supreme Court in Auckland for several months, will return to Wellington on Saturday. Dr. F. W. Norwood, of the City Temple, London, left Wellington for Christehurch last evening in continuation of his tour of the Dominion. Mr. H. P. Christmas, of Sydney, managing director for Australasia of Woolworths, Ltd., arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. Justice Fair, the recentlyappointed judge, will arrive in Auckland during the week-end and will take up his duties at the Supreme Court , next week. The Rev. Raymond Simpson, who has held the charge of Gore for about four years, has accepted a call to thra Emmanuel Congregational Church, Palmerston North. The Rev. Murray A. Gow will be inducted this evening as minister of the joint charge of St. Peter's Presbyterian Church, Grey Lynn, and St. Mungo's Church, Richmond. Mr. J. M. Dailies, who is leaving, for a six months' trip to England and South Africa, was last night granted leave of absence by the Tauianga Borough Council. He will leave Auckland by the Marania on June 28. Mr. H. J. F. Mills has been appointed manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company's London office, in succession to the late Mr. Godfrey Holdsworth. Mr. W. C. How has been appointed assistant manager and Mr. C. W. Payne has been appointed secretary,! in succession to Mr. Mills. Lieutenant R. P. Tanner arrived by the Ruahine from London to-day to relieve Lieutenant-Commander M. A. C. H. Hardcastle as gunnery officer in H.M.s. Diomede. The latter will leave for England next week. Lieutenant Tanner has recently been at the gunnery school at Devonport, England. Mr. Phil. Seabrook, vice-president of the New Zealand Motor Racing Drivers' Association, who is leaving for England next week, was farewelled at a smoke concert given by the association last night. WhMe in England, Mr. Seabrook intends to gather information on small track racing to assist the association in the holding of similar races on' the-half-mile track now being constructed at Geddis Basin, Onehunga.
