CROWN CASE AGAINST BAYLY.

FURTHER EXPERTS TO BE CALLED.

LENGTH OF CROSS-EXAMINATION.

Although there are few witnesses for the Crown now to be called in the double murder charge against William Alfred Bayly, doubts are now entertained as to whether the Crown case will be completed' this week. Further experts are to be called, one at least of whom is expected to be in the box giving his evidence-in-chief for the best part of a day, and two others who give allied evidence are likely to take more than half a day. Cross-examination of these experts is expected to occupy a considerable time, for their testimony, judged on their evidence in the lower Court, is an important feature of the Crown allegations. In the past few days progress with the trial has been necessarily slow because of the technical evidence of experts, but the pace was greater again this morning, and five witnesses were completed by the luncheon adjournment.
