STARTING PROBLEM.
CENTENARY RACE DIFFICULTY. | LONDON', June 8. The Melbourne Centenary air race committee is at present tackling the problems of handicapping, route organisation, and accommodation for the air armada. Another difficulty is the j method of starting. Probably Heston and Croydon aerodromes will both be I used for checking and sealing the | 'planes. . A committeeman said to the special ! representative of the "Sun": "People imagine that we can line up the 'planes and fire the pistol, but it is not so simple as that. All the machines will he heavily laden with petrol and will be unwieldy when taking oil'. A possible solution is their dispatch at intervals of a minute, with crash equipment ready I to remove any failing to start." J
