FLEXIBLE GLASS
A firm of manufacturers in Birmingham lias recently introduced a new process by which ordinary plate glass can be made unbreakable. It is so flexible and can stand such pressure that, when two men stood on a 6heet a yard long raised on two supports, the only elToct was that the glass curved slightly with their weight, but resumed its normal straightness directly they stepped off it. It is reported that the British Board of Trade has sanctioned the use of this glass in half-inch thickness for ship's port holes, in place of glass of the ordinary thickness of one inch. Composite sheets bf the new glass have been subjected to revolver and rifle lire, and while in some tests the outer sheet was dented, the TVihole remained intact.
