OVERSEAS MARKETS.
NEXT WOOL SALES. AUSTRALIAN POSTPONEMENT. (Received II a.m.) LONDON, June 12. The "Yorkshire Post" says that the postponement of the Australian wool sales for this month is momentarily assisting the market, but does little to end the present uncertainties. Nevertheless, the decision reveals that the Australians will not be stampeded into sacrificing wool during a temporary market weakness. Accordingly, present rates here are steadier than they have been lately. A Brisbane message states that it is generally believed that wool sales will not be held before August. There are more than 150,000 bales to be moved. DAIRY PRODUCE. BUTTER AND CHEESE FIRM. A. report that the London butter and cheese markets are firm has been received by the New Zealand Producers' Co-opera-tive Marketing Association from its London ofiicc, dated June V 2. Prices are:—Butter: New Zealand, 79/ to 89/; Danish, 86/ to 88/. Cheese: White, 49/6 to 50/; coloured, 47/. PRICE OF SILVER. (Received 12 noon.) LONDON, June 12. Silver is quoted for spot delivery at 19% d per ounce, and for forward delivery at 19 11-16 d.
