BUSINESS IS STEADY. SOUTH BRITISH EASIER. A good volume of business continues to be done by Auckland stockbrokers, though the market became quieter yester- • day afternoon, and buyers this morning showed little willingness to advance their limits. ' In the banking and insurance sections the easing tendency which has been noticeable recently, has caused sellers to come in at reduced values, and Bank ol New Zealantls were available this morning at £2 11/, while best buyers were 6d lower. Holders of Commercial Banks were asking 16/G, and buyers offered 16/3. South British sold at a shilling lower than their late value, and further selling quotations at £3 19/6 failed to bring a response. Colonial Sugars are steady, and trading has been moderate, with the price unchanged this week. Government securities remain quiet, with slightly more interest among sellers. The Noon Call. In sympathy with this morning's business, fewer sales were finalised at the noon call. Lines were mainly steady, with Government stocks showing a hardening tendency. Auckland G,as, contributing, .-.re casing. Buyers to-day will give 19/2, with sellers only Id ahead, a concession of 3d on this morning. Grand Junctions are also easing. Buyers to-day are 4/ and sellers 4/2, with a. sale at 4/1, a drop of Id. Buyers arc now willing to give £106 for S J A per cent Government stock, a rise of between 2/6 and 5/. SAI.ES COMPLETED.
