SATURDAY'S REP. GAME. OTAGO TO MEET AUCKLAND

(STRONG SOUTHERN SIDE COMING.

The Otago representative team will leave Dunedra to-day on their long trek to try to regain from Auckland the FA Trophy, the premiership of Soccer in New Zealand., winch was won from the Southerners by Auckland last season at Dunedm. ihe Otago team is a strong combination, embracing several seasoned veterans and a number of younger players some of whom figured in the All Black team that toured Australia. The return visit of W. Hooper to Auckland recalls some of the most thrilling games played hero m the days when Philomel and Shore were at their best, and were inseparable after three of the most exciting games the code has provided in this city. I OtagO team OU Us last visit here in 192G, when Auckland won the day by 4 goals to 1 before the largest attendance, with the exception of the visit of the Canadians, that has been housed on Bland ford Park. Other distinguished members of the visiting eleven will be J. _ McDougall, G. Anderson, W. Chapman, C Ives and H. Balk, all

of whom have represented New Zealand in international games. The Otago party will arrive in Auckland on Friday morning and will be quartered in the Thistle Hotel. An interesting programme of entertainment has been arranged for them during their stay by the A.F.A., and after the match on Saturday they will be the quests of the Thistle Club at a cabaret evening at the Mayfair. In consequence of the representative match on Saturday no games will be played after 3 o'clock. The curtainraiser on the park will be between the second grade teams, Thistle and MetroCollege, the latter eleven not having yet tasted defeat this season.
