ITALIAN FILMS SCREENED. Proceeds being devoted to the funds of the Auckland Public Hospital, a special screening of films of Italian scenic and Fascist interests was held last evening at the Poxy Theatre, under the auspices of the Italian Club, Auckland. Representative citizens and members of the Consular Corps attended. A short address on Italy's future and world problems of to-day was given by Mr. M. J. Sheahan, actingconsular agent for Italy in Auckland. The films, besides scenic gems, included pictures of General Balbo's historic flight back from America last year, and also details of Crown Prince Humbert's recent visit to the Northern African dependencies of Italy. Mussolini's inaugural Fascist speech in Naples in 1925 was shown in the main film. MUNICIPAL BAND. A much-appreciated programme was given by the Auckland Municipal Band in the Town Hall last night. Mme. Cora Melvin gave splendid renderings of "Damon" (Max), and "A Birthday Greeting" (Cowan), being recalled on each occasion. The flute solo, "Lucia Fantasia," played by Hal C. McLennan, was also fine, and he was recalled by the audience. Mr. Eric Waters was accompanist.
