SECOND WEEK ENDS.

TRIAL OF WILLIAM BAYLY. DETECTIVES' FURTHER EVIDENCE. COURT ADJOURNS TILL TUESDAY. With a short session of the Supreme Court this morning, the second week of the Bayly murder trial was completed, and when the Court, at mid-day, adjourned until 10 o'clock on Tuesday morning, 36 witnesses for the Crown had given their testimony. This morning Detective J. B. Finlay completed his evidence on the double murder charge against Bayly, a Ruawaro farmer, aged 28, and when the Court rose Sub-Inspector Sweeney, who was in charge of the investigation for some time, was giving his evidence-in-chief. Four more detectives are to be called, and they will be followed by upwards of ten' constables. It is expected that towards the end of next week the pathologists for the Crown will tell the results of their examinations.
