INDIA SWELTERING.
UNPRECEDENTED HEAT WAVE. (Received 10 a.m.) CALCUTTA, June 1. India is experiencing an unprecedented heat wave, particularly in Madras Presidency, where the temperature reached 120 degrees. There have been many deaths, and the roads arc strewn with bodies of animals and birds killed by the fierce heat.
