GOODMAN'S YEARLINGS.
The two yearlings in A. Goodman's stable at Trentham have now beeii I named. For the Martarma —Star Lady filly the name claimed is Starma, and for the Greyspear —Red Ribbon colt Dark Red. Both youngsters are black. It is several seasons since Goodman had juveniles to pieparc, his attention in recent years having been given .to older horses" Starma is interestingly bred, as she is -by a. son of Martian out •of Star Stranger's dam, thus being a threequarter relative. She was cheaply bought for. 60gs at-the yearling sales by Mr. A. H. Dember, ,of the Waikato, who "^ r „? a Goodman's advice. She'has done well in her early preparation, and, contrary to wnat might be expected from her breed- . mg, she -may be ;a.useful- two-year-old performer.
