SHIPPING NEWS.

MARIPOSA'S VISIT. LOADINGS NEXT WEEK. The only arrival of note to-day was the liner Mariposa, from Sydney. She sailed again early this afternoon. On Monday two vessels are due to load for London, and later in the week there are three ships due with overseas cargo. Mariposa berthed at the Queen's wharf during the forenoon to land passengers, mails and cargo. She sailed shortly after 1 p.m. for Los Angeles, via Suva, Pago Pago and Honolulu. (H. and M.) Statira, having unloaded her cargo of raw sugar from Java at Chelsea, was to sail at 1.30 p.m. today for Westport. After bunkering she is proceeding to Sydney, and thence goes to Pacific Islands to load copra for Europe. (Spedding.) Monowai left yesterday afternoon for Sydney. She is due there on Monday, and sails from there next Friday for Auckland and Wellington. (U.S.S.) Remuera is loading at Tokomaru Bay, and sails from there late to-night. She will berth on her arrival here at the Central wharf to complete her cargo for London, and is scheduled to sail at daybreak next Saturday. (N\Z.S.) Avelona Star is expected from Wellington on Monday to complete loading for London. She has been allotted a berth at the Queen's wharf, and sails on Thursday. (Blue Star.) Canadian Leader is expected about Tuesday or Wednesday from Halifax. She has general cargo from Auckland, Wellington and Australia. (CMsT.S.) Orari is expected on Thursday from Liverpool with cargo for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. She has been allotted a berth at the Queen's wharf. <X.Z.S.) Matai left at noon to-day for North Gape to attend to the lighthouse there, which was reported by the captain of the Mariposa to be not functioning. (Govt.)
