LEAGUE MATCHES.
CARLAW PARK BROADCASTS.
ADJUSTMENT OF PROGRAMME. Station IZB has rearranged its Saturdayprogramme to enable descriptions of Rugby League football matches to be broadcasted from Carlaw Park during the afternoon. The adjustment does not involve any extension of the station's- hours. The station, it was announced to-day, has decided to cut out portion of the Saturday morning programme to make room for the broadcasting of the footbail matches in the afternoons. It was only by taking that step, it was pointed out, that the necessary arrangements could be made, because the hours allotted to the station would not be increased. "Wo are very pleased with' the result," said Mr. G. Grey Campbell, president of the Auckland Rugby League, this afternoon. "Listeners in the country districts especially will appreciate the action of IZB in meeting what has become a widespread demand for the broadcasting of the description of League matches from Carlaw Park. Incidentally, the first match to be broadcast will be one in which a great deal of interest is being taken, the contest between Newton and Richmond."
