Springlike Weather in Polar Winter Night. PHENOMENAL TEMPERATURES. (Received 10 a.m.) NEW YORK, May 29. The latest advices from the Bvrd Antarctic expedition state that it now appears that like everything else, the Antarctic weather is depreciating. It has turned astonishingly mild since Tuesday and the temperature has risen above zero every day. On Thursday it hit a high level mark of 25 above, which is considered phenomenal for the dead of the winter night. The men enjoyed the change and a group walked to the Bay of Whales. Tho expedition's animals, particularly the cows, are greatly revived by the springlike atmosphere. It is not uncommon in Antarctic winters to see an occasional above zero day, but the meteorologists say the present temperatures are most unusual. The highest registered by the first Byrd expedition was 17 above.
