TWO MEN ARRESTED.
FLOTATION ALLEGATION.
EXTRADITION PROBABLE,
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Arrested in London and Melbourne respectively under warrant issued in Wellington about a year ago, two men alleged to be concerned in the flotation of a° Wellington company may be extradited to stand trial on charges of false pretences. Ernest Mabin Gilmour, a New Zealander, company manager, was arrested in London, charged with obtaining at Wellington the sum of £200 by means of false pretences in respect to representations concerning a company which was stated to possess patent rights to a motor car headlight reflector. An Australian named Charles Ernest Vickers, company promoter, was arrested in Melbourne on a charge of obtaining £1000 at Manaia by false pretences in respect to representations concerning the same company. The Courts of England and Victoria first must make out extradition orders in the cases of Gilmour and of Vickers.
Applications have already been made bv the New Zealand police, and Detec-tive-Sergeant Jarrold has proceeded to Melbourne to bring Vickers to Wellington in anticipation of an extradition order being made.
