POOR POTATO DEMAND. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) CHRISTCIIURCH, Saturday. The potato market shows a further easing, and quotations are from £3 10/ to £3 12/6 f.0.b., sacks included, quotations to farmers being £2 10/ to £2 12/6. Ihe continued lack of inquiries from Auckland 16 the main cause of the dull market, and it ie apparent that more potatoes were available there than was estimated some weeks ago. Southern consignments have been going forward in sufficient quantity to provide for the present and immediate requirements, and although digging has been interrupted there have been plenty of potatoes ready for shipment it required. A few farmers have just about completed digging, but to-day's wintry weather will hold up operations until late next week. The Wingatui is due to sail to-day, with an estimated cargo from Lyttelton of from 3000 to 3500 sacks. Farmers are not offering under the low scale of prices. Fowl wheat is unchanged. Quotations are 3/3 .f.0.b., sacks extra. The onion market is the worst experienced for years. Round about 22/6 a ton on trucks is all that ie being offered. Oats are meeting with very little attention. Values are 2/6, f.0.b., sacks included, at Lyttelton for A Gartons, and 2/3 for The small seeds market is lifeless, but all classes are firm at recent quotations.
