CYCLING.

MANUKAU AMATEURS. A strong westerly wind prevailed on Saturday when the Manukau Amateur Cycling Club held its junior and senior c'vents'ut Avondale South. The wind was against the riders on the hill section and the seniors were severely tested in tlicu nine-lap race. In the junior race over two laps, five miles, nine started. Several of the senior riders competed in the open race at Takapuna and naturally a smaller field than usual raced on the club's circuit. Twenty-seven started in their nine-lap race of 22J miles. The Lynndale Cycling Club held a combined junior and senior l(i-iuile race on Saturday over a new circuit. There were 22 starters. The new circuit proved to be far superior to the old one. The Beach Haven Amateur Cj'ele Club held a 251-mile race for seniors, the courso belnj; to Albany and back and once round the circuit. A junior race of eight miles was also held. Hilder, 4.0, 32.15, 2; Toup, scr, 28.17, 3. H. Sharp registered fastest time. LADIES' CLU3. The Auckland Ladies' Amateur Cycling Club conducted an eight-mile race ttt Mount Albert on Saturday. The results were :—Miss Hazello Storey (4.15), 27.33, 1; Mrs. Harrison (1.15), 20.15, 2; Miss Kmily l'lle (scr), 25.04, 3, and fastest time.

THAMES CLUB. in cold dull weather the Thames Cycling Club held a 124-inile nice ou the KopuThttlUGß circuit on Saturday, n variable wind lacing the riders on the home stretch. A Komi performance was registered by w. and K. C. Burr, who maintained a good pace throughout, the latter winning by one minute from Ills brother. The fastest time was registered by the back-marker, S. West, who covered the distance in 03.41 4-5, The first throe to finish wore R. C. Burr, 5.0. 1; W. Burr, 2.1 D, '- ; and K. ISdkins, 2.15, 3.

AUCKLAND CLUB. Fine overhead conditions prevailed for the Auckland Cycle Club's road events at Tamaki on Saturday, but, nevertheless, riders had to contend with a boisterous wind. The junior division held an eightmile handicap and the seniors a 10-mile handicap, Good Ileitis competed, there beiiis 3S starters. Junior result:— D. Bunks (l!.3O), time 25.15 1 W.
