The old clock in Wells Cathedral (which was removed from Glastonbury sit the Reformation) was commenced about the year 1325, by Peter Lightfoot, u monk of Glastonbury; the dial showed the motions of the sun, moon, etc.; on the top of the clock, eight armed knights pursued each other with a rotatory motion.
