WAITEMATA POWER BOARD
The Waitemata Electric Power Board met this morning, the chairman, Mr." W. R. Leighton, presiding. Interest Payment in New South Wales. Regarding the. payment o£ interest in Aeff South Wales, the Audit Office wrote as under:—"ln reply to your letter ol April 24. I have to advise you that in _yiew ot the recent decision of the High Court of Australia in the case Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board v. Australian Mutual Provident Society, the Audit Office will not raise any objection to your board paying to its debenture holders in Australia, on the conditions set out by you, the amount of interest s'-iort paid to them since the passing of the INew South Wales Interest Reduction Act. Ihe letter was received. Financial Returns.—The manager reported that the gross revenue from Bales of current for April amounted to £(w/2, compared with £6219 in the same month last year. Details of those figures for last month were: Lighting, £2353; domestic supply, £1384; domestic power, £980; industrial power, £525; milking motors, £390. In the cash receipts return the most instructive item was that of £6918 for consumers of current. Growth of Load. —April was quite a satisfactory month, 46 new consumers, 12 ranges and 12 water heaters being added to the board's system. _ 'There was also a satisfactory revenue increase.
