FIRST DIRECTORATE. PRGMINENT BUSINESS MEN. MR. E. ANDERSON, OF AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association. \ CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday.

■ The seven directors of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand who have been appointed by the Government, as required by the Act passed last year, were announced by the Minister of Finance, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, in an interview by telephone at Waiho to-night. Three are State directors and four are representatives of the shareholders.

Of these two are required to be persons who are or have been actively engaged in primary industries, and the other two are required to be persons who are or have been actively, engaged in industrial or commercial pursuits. The directors appointed are: State Members. Mr. John Gavin Duncan, Wellington. Mr. David Alexandc. j^ .. ~ Wellington. Mr. Richara James Hudson, Dunedin. Shareholders' Representatives. Mr. James Begg, Dunedin. Mr. Edward Jasper Herrick, Hastings. Mr. Edward Anderson, Auckland. ■ Mr. Norton Francis, Christchurch. Messrs. Begg and Herrick represent the interests of primary industries, and Messrs. Anderson and Francis industry and commerce. The other three members of the board are the governor, Mr. L. Lefeuax, the deputy-governor, Mr. W. F. L. Ward, and the Secretary to the Treasury. Mr A. D. Park.
