BOARD OF CONTROL.

DRAW FOR SATURDAY WEEK. The Auckland Rugby League Board of Control met last evening, Mr. G. Grey Campbell presiding. A letter was received from Mr. J. Carlaw expressing pleasure at his reappointment as president. A deputation from the Referees' Association was received, and after considerable discussion it was agreed that the nomination of Mr. L. Bin 119 by the Auckland League, and Mr. J. McCowatt by the Referees' Association, as members of the Appointments Board, should be accepted, with Mr. A. Ball, ex-chairman of the Referees' Association, ae independant member. The chairman, after bearing Mr. li. Bull, chairman of the Referees' Association, agreed that the retention of Mr. Ball's services was most valuable to the game. Messrs. Wilfred Simpson and A. McCowatt also spoke. Mr. Bull announced that members of the Referees' Association were only too pleased to ffive lectures to clubs regarding points in the game. Mr. F. C. Harrington, late trainer of Taranaki (Inglewood), advised that he would bo pleased to give liis services to local teams. Messrs. -W. Lusty, S. Freeman, W. Liversidgc and P. McCullough, were appointed official timekeepers. The clcaranoe of L. D. McLeay from Taranaki to Auckland (Ponsonby), and E. Mincham (Wellington), were approved, subject to approval by the Xe.w Zealand Council, and the transfers of C. J. Hall, of Richmond (with regradc) to Point Chevalier, and C. Cranch, of Mount Albert, to City Rovers, were also granted. Reinstatements were recommended to the New Zealand Council of Ivan Littlewood and iT. Douglas, whilst T. W. D. Dnwson \vas registered. Bv ballot last year's selectors. Messrs. E. K. Aslier. W. Mincham and H. Avery, were re-elected. The draw for the opening series of matches was announced as follows:— City v. Devonport. Newton v. Richmond, Ponsonby v. Marists.
