ONEHUNGA COUNCIL.
The meeting of the Oneliunga Borough. Council last night was presided over by. the Mayor, Mr. E. Morton. Penalty On Rates.—Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., advised the council that the Government will legislate next session of Parliament to validate any concession which may be given by local authorities in respect of the imposition of the 10 per cent penalty On unpaid rates for the current year. Revaluation.—lnformation lias been received from the Minister in charge of the Valuation Department that a revaluation of Onehunga cannot be made in time lor the present rating year. War Museum. —The council's contribution to the Auckland War Museum is £26-1 7/1 for the current year, payable next June. Football Grounds.—The reserves comi mittee reported that it had settled the allocation of the football grounds, on the recreation reserve. The report waa adopted provided that a portion of the concrete floor is laid by the League football club in its elied, and a water meter installed. Recreation Reserve. —The Tamaki Maori Hostel Committee is to be allowed tlie use of the recreation reserve on Saturday, April 14, and to make a charge to admission.
