NEXT FRIDAY'S BIG MEETING. OVER (3000 COMPETING AT DOMAIN. By the courtesy of Mr. C. H. Colegrave, secretary of tlie Auckland Primary Schools' Amateur Athletic Association, in forwarding an advance copy of the programme for next week's stupendous sports meeting at the Domain next Thursday, we are able to give some idea of the magnitude of this greatest annual gathering of young athletes in the Dominion.

There are>26lß boys entered for various events, and 3442 girls, an aggregate of 6060. And these figure do not take any account of many more hundreds in the 32 schools who will step out at 2.30 p.m. for four massed folk dances: Danish Dance of Greeting, Gathering Peascods, Swedish Klapp Dance, and Reap the Flax. Hobbs; vice-patron, Mr. D. Fetrie; president, Mr. G. Squirrell; secretary, Mr. F. J. Ohlson; treasurer, Mr. G. H. Plummer; assistant secretary, Mr. S. H. Ferguson. The first sports meeting was held on March 17, 1899. The programme contained 16 championship events, together with displays by pupils of different affiliated schools. Annual sports meetings have been held ever since that date, with the exception of two years during the Great War. After holding the name of the Auckland Public Schools' Amateur Athletic Association for a quarter of a century, the body assumed the title of the Auckland Primary Schools' Amateur Athletic Association.
